4 promising sustainability ideas to battle ClimateLaunchpad Competition

<Ljubljana>, 21 April 2015 Slovenia is represented by 4 teams in ClimateLaunchpad 2015. The second edition of this European Competition runs in 27 countries. ClimateLaunchpad unlocks Europe’s cleantech potential and helps aspiring entrepreneurs to grow their ideas into global businesses. The Slovenian teams now start with a 2-day Boot Camp and 6 Coaching Sessions to prepare for the National Final on 9 June 2015. The top-3 of all competing countries will battle the European Final in the Netherlands, in September.

The ideas that enter Slovenia’s competition range from Hybridize your car to HemPlastics. Judging criteria are impact on climate change, growth potential and skills and enthusiasm within the team.

Frans Nauta, Deputy Director Entrepreneurship Climate-KIC and founder of ClimateLaunchpad: ClimateLaunchpad is a glimpse into Europe’s cleantech future, and the future is bright. There are vast opportunities for innovative businesses to combat climate change. This competition trains teams how to develop and sell their ideas. We help them to achieve global impact.”

Europe’s 8 best ideas win access to Climate-KIC’s Accelerator programme, geared at growing big cleantech ideas into strong businesses. The overall winner of the European Final also receives a cash prize of €10,000, the runner up gets €5,000 and the idea that comes in third place wins €2,500.

Sara West, winner of the 2014 competition and co-founder of Wavetube: “ClimateLaunchpad has opened up an immense network and expertise that we can easily access as we accelerate our development. It's a once in a lifetime experience to expand your network and your business.”
